Original Paintings
I truly believe that the dream in which I saw this scene for the very first time was really God taking my hand in an answered prayer; showing me the path ahead, the light ahead, encouraging me to keep walking forward.
After finally deciding to take a leap of faith and turn my passion for art into a full time profession, I went through long season of creative drought and artistic blocks. I felt the pressure of needing to produce and meet deadlines for myself. I was crippled with self-doubt, and uncertainty in the turmoil of our world today… I felt like turning back on my dream of being a full time artist. I prayed for guidance, I prayed for answers, I prayed for a sign that I was on the right path.
Then one morning I fell into a lucid dream, where this powerful vision of color suddenly burst into fruition, burning inside my eyelids. This bright light on a forest path, filling me with inspiration; warm and happy, with a sense of assuredness and wonder. God came to me in a dream, and He showed me through the trees; “do not be afraid”.
My hope for these three pieces ~ as well as the others that will follow in the series ~ is that it inspires a similar sense of faith and awe for the future, in the homes of my collectors.
Much love ~ MO.

“The Forest of Dreams” tells the story of where my journey with oil painting all began, over a decade ago.
It was my very first time working with oil paints during a study in working with different mediums, and I absolutely fell in love. The movement, the forgiveness, the freedom for the forms to follow my mind as it changed many a time. And the colors, oh the colors, like I had never seen paint appear on my canvas before! They gave me the ability to bring to life some of the forests and scenes that I only dreamed of wandering.
I’ve learned so much about working with oils since then, and it excites me to say that I still have so much to learn from them; it will be an enthralling lifelong pursuit. Oil painting teaches me patience, it teaches me how to “go with the flow” and improvise as needed, it teaches me that there are many different ways to achieve what you desire, and that it is never too late to make changes. Oil painting for me can be a form of meditation, introspection, therapy, and prayer.
Though my original “Forest of Dreams” painting is sold and now resides in a private office collection, my hope is this: may all of the paintings that are soon to follow in this growing series find you mystified with possibility, and being a student of life’s teachings while you wander.
Much love ~ MO

This painting is inspired by the ancient Irish and English folklore of being “pixie-led”; a form of enchantment leaving you confused, often wandering in circles, completely lost in the “fairy-mist” influence of the deep woods, with no way out. The Old English style graphic represents the slightly humorous absurdity of finding yourself without any sense of direction ~ the singular unfiltered thought of “well f**k” , as the panic settles into a calm acceptance and resignation that you are bewilderingly lost.
I understand this piece may not be for everyone, but for those seeking a whimsicore or forestcore feel, with a modern and edgy twist, it will make an excellent statement piece.
Details for Purchasing Original Art

For best care practices, please read the following instructions.
HANDLING: Please always use care and caution when unpackaging, moving, or installing your artwork. Use clean, oil free hands or gloves when handling if possible.
CLEANING: Please only use a dry, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the surface of your art if needed.
DO NOT hang or store the artwork in the following places:
prolonged direct sunlight
rooms with high humidity or damp places
extreme temperatures or temperature changes
places it may be at risk of other items leaning or falling against it
-
APPEARANCE: I have done my best to include photos in various rooms and lighting to show examples of each artwork in different environments, but please note that the colors on your screen may vary slightly from the colors of the artwork in person.
PROTECTION: Due to the nature of oil paints, oil paintings can take months or even years to fully cure or dry depending on the thickness of the paint as well as other factors. Oil paintings need to “breathe” ~ they use an oxidation process in order to dry properly, and should not be framed behind glass in their early life.
For this reason, all oil paintings of mine are instead coated with a temporary breathable varnish if sold or displayed within 6 - 12 months of being completed. This layer of varnish creates a protective barrier between the oil paints and any dust, lint, pet hair and other environmental contaminants that may want to stick to the surface.
Please refrain from framing (or reframing) oil paintings behind glass when less than 1 - 2 years old especially.
The varnish I use is removeable with the correct products. If you ever desire this layer to be removed or reapplied for protection in the future, please contact me at monelelestrat@mysticmo.ca and/or another trusted art restoration professional in your local area.
